Pear tree was planted late 2010 I think.
It survived winter which is no real surprise considering they survive down to -30.
Well, I dug back the mulch volcano down to the crown and watered a lot and now its burst into life. In the picture of the crown you can clearly see the tide mark as I think of it, thats the level that the soil and mulch was up to, or in other words how far down too deep it was buried. Its actually got 6-7 new shoots now, the first in over a year.
Not doing too well. I have noticed that its lost loads of its bark and the stem is half rotten. Im wondering if it will recover from that?
Hopefully its still there.
